Nike Free Waffle

I got a new pair of Nike Free Waffels and wanted to share what I think about them with you.  First of all I want to talk about how they are a good looking shoe and very comfortable.  Nike put a updated 1990′s look onto a very technical sole.  You can literally roll the Nike frees up.  Nike says they are as close to running barefoot as you can get.  I want to correct that for them.  The flexibility is as close as you are going to get to actually being barefoot.  I weigh over 200lbs. and there is no way I am going to go run outside barefoot, so I like that they add comfort with flexibility.  I had a pair of Nike frees a few years back and loved them, except for the fact that my heal always fell off of the back of the shoe.  Not now.  They added that extra support to keep your foot where it belongs.  So overall, not a bad shoe at all.  They look good with jeans, shorts, or sweats.  Good to run in.  They are not Nikes premier running shoes, but they are overall a good all around shoe.

Children’s Toms

TOMS.  My wife and I heard about Toms, and fell in love with the idea.  When you buy a pair, the company, Toms, gives a pair to a child in need.  They find kids in need all over the country.  Now in order for them to have enough money to do that, you have to figure that they do not spend a whole lot of money making the shoe.  That being said, the shoes hold up ok so far.  We first bought both of our girls silver Toms that are made with tinsel in them.  We instantly fell in love with them as did the girls.  They loved the sparkle look that the tinsel added.  I don’t know how much experience you have with tinsel, but let me tell you.  A fly could break a piece of tinsel.  I am not very happy that they decided to make these shoes with tinsel.  My wife and I did not think of how fragile tinsel was at the time of the purchase.  We bought them from Journey’s kids.  (I normally do not like to mention price or the store that I bought the item from, but in this case I will.)  We spent right around $30 each.  The manager warned us that they are fairly delicate, but we thought we would give them a try.  I mean look how cute they are.  Two weeks later my youngest daughter’s toes were almost hanging out of the shoe.

She wore them exclusively, but we thought, really?  After two weeks?  I’m sorry, but there is not a single shoe in the world that is worth $30 that only lasts two weeks. So next we emailed the company.  They told us to take them to the store at which we purchased them from.  Toms then said to let them know if they would not work with us, and they would work something out with us.  So we went back to the manager that told us they were delicate.  We were a little worried seeing how he warned us, but then again $30 for two weeks, ya right.  The manager gave us a gift card for the amount in which the Toms cost.  We thought about buying our youngest a new shoe all together, but we couldn’t get over how much she loved her toms.  We bought her a different kind that do not have the tinsel in them.  Already they are holding up so much better.  My youngest acts as if they are the most comftorble shoe she has ever worn.  She will wake up and the first thing she does is put on her Toms.  When she first got them she jumped and run like she never has.  It was the funniest thing I have seen her do.

Ok so now that I told you my life story, I guess I will get down to business.  BUY these shoes.  NOT the ones that have tinsel, but just the plain old classics.  They are trendy and go with almost any outfit.  They are a great cause as well.  The bottoms are a sold rubber, with a leather sole.  very comfortable.  I am in NO way affiliated with Toms, but I highly recommend them.  Thank you for your time and I hope this helped.

Pioneer AVIC Z120BT

This is a Pioneer Avic-z120bt. All and all i give it a 3.5 out of 5. The DVD quality is very good. It is ok for navigating through all of the options while driving. It has everything you could ever want out of a in dash cd, dvd player. The navigation is horrible on it. I would have rated it 4.5 out of 5 if the navigation was better. The GPS will turn a five minute drive into a twenty five minute drive. If going on a state to state tip trip it works fine. In my home town I just have to get to the freeway, then it will do ok. The back-up camera is a very nice added feature. I had to buy the CAMERA separate, but highly recommend getting one if you plan on buying this for your vehicle. When starting your car, it will take about fifteen to twenty seconds for the Pioneer unit to turn on. That being said, you can start the car put the vehicle in reverse and the back-up camera will work without a problem. After backing out of your parking spot the Pioneer head unit will be ready to operate. You can watch netflix or youtube from your Iphone and I think a droid will work as well. I have a ipod in my glove box loaded with tons of music, and am able to control the ipod from the head unit. I recommend the Pioneer avic-z120bt, if you do not care about the navigation. If the navigation is important to you, I highly recommend doing some more research on other brands. I hope this helps, and feel free to leave any questions or comments you may have.

Absolute Headrest Monitor COM1210IR

Here I did a review of some headrest monitors. The brand is Absolute, and the model number is COM1210IR. They come in 3 colors. Black, gray, and tan. I ordered them from sonicelectronix.com I found these beasts and had to have them. They are 12 inches big. Thats right 12 inches. I was unable to find a bigger size out there. I was ready to order, but they didn’t have the right color. I went to my local upholster shop and they quoted me $40-50 per headrest. Considering I found these fairly cheap online, I figured I didn’t care if the color matched or not. Well when I ordered I selected 2 for my quantity. Well I got a gray and a dark gray. I wish I would have taken pictures of that, but I didn’t care seeing how I was going to get them reupholstered anyways. The picture quality is ok at best. When driving it messes with the picture a little bit. I kind of figured the picture would not be the best seeing how big they are and also I had to remind myself that they are for my car. My kids love them. They have yet to complain and we used them for a big road trip this summer. I do wish they had the tilt option. I am slightly above average with my height at 6’3. That being said my chair is slid all the way back and slightly reclined. (not gangster style) but that leaves the headrest very close to the person in the back. All and all I would recommend this product. The price is right, the quality slightly lacks, but again, THE MONEY IS RIGHT. Also I wanted to add that they were easy to moderate to install. They have to be installed to a dvd player. Mine go to my in-dash dvd player and that works like a charm. Thank you for your time. I hope this helps. Feel free to leave any questions or comments.

Reebok Zigtech Zigpulse

August 1, 2011 dhildreth Featured, Footwear

★ ★ ★ ★ ☆

So I did the video review, now I bring you my written review. My wife’s (the pink one) is the Reebok ZigPulse II. The ZigPulse seems to be pretty average as far as weight goes. I have felt heavier. I have also felt lighter. The major thing that the ZigPulse does to catch you eye is, they have the HEY, LOOK AT ME zig design on the bottom of the shoe. Also they are very bright in color. The ZigPulse also has very good ventilation. They allow the foot to breath very well. The base of the shoe is sturdy and makes for a nice flat surface which keeps all of the tendons in the foot from over working to just keep from rolling an ankle. The supposed design of the zig on the bottom of the shoe helps conserve energy. I dont know anything about that, so I will take their word for it. Once laced up they fit nice and snug. All and all a very good shoe

My shoe (the blue one) is the Reebok ZigSonic. Unlike the ZigPulse the fabric seems to be a lot more stronger. The ZigSonic is also average in weight. It like the ZigPulse has a very balanced base and should be very difficult to roll your ankle while running. It has the same design as far as conserving energy as you run. They also lace up nice and snug. I try to only use mine for running, but ALWAYS find an excuse to wear them out.

I also wanted to add that these shoes are endorsed by some pretty big name athletes.  To name a few, Peyton Manning, Chad Ochocinco and John Wall, which I am sure you have seen their Zig commercials.  Santonio Holmes, David Ortiz, Allen Iverson and Myself are a few others that endorse them.  I would like to be on the Reebok payroll or receive free shoes and other gear from Reebok like the other athletes I mentioned do, but I do not.  haha.  There are many other athletes that endorse the Reebok Zig shoes, but I didn’t really think it would be appropriate to write over 100 names in this post.
